Mid price review|Midfielders

As the season edges closer we look at which mid prices have been performing throughout the JLT series. In a four week series leading into the season, Were looking at players coming back from injury, underperforming premo's and potential breakout players who could be a point of difference for your team, and potentially set your team apart from the rest.

without further ado here are your mid-priced midfielders for 2018.

Connor Blakely

we start this off with breakout contender and Fremantle midfielder Connor Blakely, Connor had a breakout season in 2017, towards the second half of the season, only to be cut short by injury in round 19. connor averaged 24 disposals at 76% efficiency and 89.2 SuperCoach points in 2017, but take away two interrupted games where he scored 7 and 54 due to injuries, Connor would've averaged 98 points in 2017. He comes as a good POD this year, and if he picks up where he left off, you would of picked an absolute bargain. He didn't look great in JLT 1 scoring only 77 SC points so watch closely in JLT 2.

Stephen Coniglio

Next we have GWS star, Steven Coniglio. He comes cheap at 455K in 2018 after Averaging 91.4 SC points in an injury interrupted season where he only played 7 games. Stephen came off a great season in 2016 where he averaged 28 disposals, 12 contested and 105.9 SC points. I expect him to get back to averaging 105+ in 2018, but in a jam packed GWS midfield it will be a tough ask. can't really go wrong, lock him in!

Dion Prestia

Prestia is next on the list and when i hear his name i think, this bloke has good potential, but is this year the year where Dion breaks 100+ again? as he did in 2014 and 2015?. he only averaged 23 possessions at 65% efficiency and 82 SC in 2017, expect those numbers to jump in 2018. Not for me, watch closely in JLT.

Jaeger O'Meara

Disappointing year in 2017, averaged only 14 disposals at 78% efficiency and 63.8 SC points, after an injury plagued season where he only played 6 games in total. Could be anything this year, if he stays fit i would expect him to finally average 100+. when he plays a full year he goes big as he showed in his first two seasons where he averaged 90 and 97 SC points, those are huge numbers for a rookie, And a more matured experienced O'Meara could smash that average in 2017. Is a handball machine, which i don't like so he will have to boost his disposal count in 2018 to score big, watch closely in JLT 2.

David Armitage

introduced himself as a Gun premium in 2015 where he went berserk and averaged 28 disposals at 72% and 109 SC points!!. had an ordinary year in 2016 averaging 87 SC points and only played 2 games in 2017. It was a long time ago when he was scoring big but he showed great promise in JLT 1 racking up 24 disposals at 83% efficiency and 129 SC points. Cant go past him at that price, will average 90+ in 2018. lock him in!.

Ryan Griffen

Was a safe bet at the Western bulldogs many years ago but age has caught up to this man and i really can't see him going big any time soon, Should average 90+ in 2018. i may be bias because he burnt me a couple of years ago but none the less if you pick him look to upgrade him early on. watch closely.

Thomas liberatore

last on our list is Liberatore, and i think he Was still celebrating last year, didn't have a great year only averaging 79 SC points. We know tom can go big as he did in 2013-2014 where he averaged 106 and 110, And reports are that tom is motivated to get back to his best in 2018 and wants that premiership again. watch closely in JLT, could be a ripper pick.
